Engage, Retain, Grow: Actionable Tips to Enhance Your Subscription Experience
Hey Subscription Fam! Welcome to this week's newsletter where I'll rapid-fire be diving into the world of subscription success. I'm excited to share some actionable tips on how to enhance your subscription experience, so you can engage, retain, and grow your audience like never before.
The below key protocols are a foundational tenet of subscription, and rather than take it at face value, I strongly advise clients to build these 3 pillars into the very core of their subscription business, when long-term success is desired... isn't it always? Ok, let's start.
Engage: The Power of Personalization
Personalization is key to engaging your subscribers. By tailoring your content and offering to meet their needs, you can make them feel valued and understood. This could be as simple as using their name in emails or as complex as offering personalized product or service recommendations based on their behavior or past engagement on your site or system.
In my watch club, this amounts to consistently asking the user for their preferences, letting them know we value their experience in this way, and allowing them to understand we care, and that we custom curate every delivery just for them.

Retain: Consistent Communication
Consistent communication is crucial for retaining subscribers. Regular updates keep your audience informed and engaged, but remember, quality trumps quantity. Strive to provide valuable, relevant content that your subscribers look forward to.
Better yet, automate these protocols by using a system like Subbly, where you can trigger comms to go to the users on a monthly basis (e.g. reminders to update their preferences, or new deals available just for them). ORRR you could trigger loyalty rewards and communications when they reach specific milestones with your brand (e.g. 1 year as a member).

Grow: Referral/Affiliate Programs
Referral programs are a fantastic way to grow your subscriber base. Offering incentives for referrals not only encourages your current subscribers to spread the word, but also attracts new subscribers with the promise of rewards. Have you tried implementing a referral program? I'd recommend a strong incentive to get the person engaged and incentivized in the first place e.g. Refer and get $50 credit or refer and earn 50% of recurring renewals from the customer.
